CHURCH COVENANT

The Church Covenant is what forms the expectations for the members of our church. It is not a complete list of expectations for Christians given in the Bible, but a brief summary of what each member is committing to live out as a member of our faith community. We believe it is a faithful expression of Biblical teaching. We voted to revise and update our church covenant on 3/23/25.

Our Church Covenant:

Having been led by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.

Therefore, we commit, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to be faithful in meeting together regularly for worship, edification, fellowship, and ministry; to support and protect this church’s unity, doctrinal purity, and biblical order; to submit to the elders and to one another for admonishment and accountability; and to give cheerfully and regularly to support this church’s mission and purpose.

We also commit, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christ-like love; to pray for our church, and each member, that we may bear good fruit for the glory of God; to care for each other’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs; to be slow to take offense; to seek and grant forgiveness; to avoid gossip, slander, and divisions; and to resolve all differences in a biblical manner.

We also commit, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to pursue personal holiness; to establish families that glorify God; to maintain the practice of personal and family worship; to raise our children in the nurture and admonishment of the Lord; to submit to God’s design for husbands and wives in the home; and to use our homes to show hospitality and the light of Christ to all who enter there.

We also commit, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to love our neighbors as ourselves; to share the gospel with the lost, whether family, friends, or strangers; to work heartily as unto the Lord in whatever job or task we undertake; to be just in our dealings with all people, acting with integrity and faithfulness; and to consciously represent Christ at all times.

We also commit, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to seek another church home when God, in His providence, moves us to some new place where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
